Hello, I’m Alexandra Corwin, a psychological associate working under the supervision of Dr. Dabdoub. I am currently completing my final year of a doctoral degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School and hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University.

Throughout my clinical training, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and substance use disorders. My clinical experience includes providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. I am particularly passionate about working with children and adolescents. I am also deeply committed to serving first responders and their families. As the daughter of a police officer and the fiancée of a firefighter, I have a personal appreciation for the challenges faced by first responders and their loved ones.

In the words of my favorite psychotherapist, Irvin Yalom, “Life as a therapist is a life of service in which we daily transcend our personal wishes and turn our gaze toward the needs and growth of another. We take pleasure not only in the growth of our patient but also in the ripple effect—the salutary influence our patients have upon those whom they touch in life.”

I find great joy and honor in witnessing an individual grow through therapy and seeing how that growth can positively impact the world around them. Whether you are seeking greater understanding, peace, new ways of being, or relief from suffering, psychotherapy can be a life-altering journey, and I would be honored to embark on that journey with you.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process that requires flexibility and a willingness to meet individuals where they are. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Humanistic-Existential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while adapting treatment to each client.

I often think of psychotherapy as navigating the ocean: our thoughts and emotions are vast and ever-changing. Like navigating the ocean, the course of therapy may shift from moment to moment. I strive to flow alongside my clients, adjusting our course as needed to discover the direction that best supports their growth.
