Sarah Schumacher
Licensed Marriage Family Therapist

Hello, I am Sarah Schumacher, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working in the mental health field since 2018 and I was previously a lead clinician. Prior to being a therapist, I spent 20 years in the army, and served several tours in Afghanistan. I love helping people overcome the difficulties that life brings and assisting my clients to feel empowered as they learn the skills necessary to prevail and enjoy a happy, healthy, and successful life.  I enjoy working with both adults and children.

I am passionate about helping clients who have suffered traumas and are experiencing PTSD. I also enjoy working with military and LEOs. My areas of interest include treating self-defeating behaviors, anger, family of origin issues, marriage/couples counseling, emotional stability, family counseling, parenting, rebuilding healthy relationships, anxiety, and depression. I am also well trained in trauma therapies for serious mental illness.

I started in 2018 in the therapy field working with homeless veterans. Since then, I have worked with multiple populations to include children and the gravely disabled. My experience includes working with trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression. My style of therapy is centered around your needs and goals

and how I can best assist you to reach those goals.

Having over 20 years of military experience shaped me as a therapist. Seeing and understanding the needs of our military and the challenges they face, helped me to better provide services to those serving, as well as first responders and their families. I understand the culture, language, and attitudes of the military, and how those shape our perspectives, and worldview.
